Novel extensible multilevel inverter based on switched-capacitor structure

Multilevel inverters (MLIs) play an important role in research on renewable energy conversion. However, traditional designs, the high-voltage stress of switching devices and large number switches limit wide application inverter. To ameliorate these problems, this paper proposes a switched-capacitor multilevel inverter (SCMLI). When compared with MLIs, proposed SCMLI utilizes structure, where capacitors can achieve voltage self-balancing without auxiliary methods. Thus, it permits changes positive negative polarity output level need for H-bridge. In addition, augment expanded maximum blocking be kept constant. show advantages extensible single dc source five-level prototype has been built. Through comparative analysis different topologies, also presents topology terms gain, levels, stress. Finally, correctness feasibility are validated by extensive experiments.
